The Aquarium – Scuba Diving Site, Lady Musgrave Island
The Aquarium is just as the name suggests and is the perfect place to see the Great Barrier Reef in its full glory. It’s a shallow lagoon wall dive with a depth up to 10m.
The Aquarium has a sandy bottom with large scattered bommies used as cleaning stations for resident green turtles, loggerhead turtles and hawksbill turtles which makes for a great photo opportunity and chance to swim with turtles!
It’s a popular spot for the turtles to relax when they aren’t using the nearby cleaning stations. The aquarium acts as a nursery inside a nursery, providing shelter for numerous juvenile reef fish.
There’s plenty of small, colourful fish such as blue and green chromis, damsel fish, moorish idols, parrotfish and butterfly fish. You might also spot whitetip reef sharks, giant clams and blue linckia starfish!
