Entrance Bommie
Scuba Diving Site, Lady Musgrave Island
Located at the entrance of Lady Musgrave Lagoon is the Entrance Bommie. This dive site has a depth of 18m and consists of a vast array of large bommies that have stunning plate corals on top. You’ll also see foliose coral, or lettuce leaf coral as we like to call them.
Foliose coral form beautiful, thin, plate like structures that often resemble the open petals of a flower. Overflowing in these bommies are thriving baitfish that attract large pelagic fish such as giant trevally and anemonefish, otherwise known as clownfish or Nemo.
Other wildlife you can encounter at the Entrance Bommie are an array of different sharks and rays, including whitetip sharks, blacktip sharks, grey reef sharks, eagle rays, sting rays and bull rays.
There’s also the potential to come across a humpback whale during whale season of July to October!

What is a reef drift dive?
Drift diving is a scuba diving technique that allows divers to be transported by water currents. Be transported by the water movement caused by the tide under the guidance of our dive master and skipper onboard our custom dive boat ‘Underworld’.
What are the advantages of drift diving?
You can cover a much larger area of reef in a single dive, so you’ll see more marine life than you would if you were diving at a spot with a smaller footprint. In areas of strong current, you’re likely to encounter more pelagic animals as well.
